Jewson upgrades alarm signalling with Chiron IRIS system

* Chiron_Jewson.jpgJewson has become the latest major company to upgrade its alarm signalling system to Chiron's market leading IRIS Touch technology.

In a move which gives it much greater control over its monitored security systems, plus significant cost savings, Jewson has so far upgraded 65 sites to the highly resilient multi-path, IRIS solution.

Jewson is the UK's leading supplier of timber and building supplies, with more than 500 branches around the UK.

Following the successful deployment of IRIS over the last 12 months the company has now asked SSS Management Services Ltd (SSS) to handle an ongoing upgrade programme which will be rolled-out to its wider estate.

David Clark, Jewson's Business Controls and Procedures Manager, says the upgrade will help the company maintain the highest levels of security and take advantage of new monitoring capabilities in the future.

"SSS and Chiron have delivered a very efficient solution that has proved its value to us over the last year," he says. "We have very specific requirements and in each case we have been able to switch to the IRIS system easily, and without disruption - and the benefits are immediate."

The IRIS system is unique in being independently certified by the VdS testing house, to EN 50131, 50136 and EN 54-21 standards, it is a solution that improves security and efficiency at every stage.

In fact the IRIS range is now Europe's best selling alarms-over-IP system, and globally it is allowing users to dispense with expensive fixed lines whilst maintaining totally secure and robust monitoring.

As an independent contract management service provider, SSS Management Services Ltd has a growing number of customers using the IRIS system. The company has built an enviable reputation as an innovator in managed security solutions, including being at the forefront of developments in intruder and panic alarm verification technology, and IP monitoring.

Using the latest signalling technology from Chiron allows SSS to deliver a more flexible and proactive service, including response to incidents.

Commenting on the adoption of IRIS by Jewson, Vikram Datar, Chiron's regional manager for Northern Europe, said that move reflected a steady switch to more flexible, multi-path alarm monitoring both in the UK and internationally.

"More than 100 ARCs around Europe now use IRIS technology to monitor alarms for  customers of all sizes, from domestic users to multinational corporations. All users benefit but the cost savings are especially significant for users with multiple branches to protect."

Strengthening its market leading position further Chiron also recently introduced its ground-breaking IRIS Secure Apps system.

IRIS Secure Apps takes alarm monitoring services to a new level, with greatly enhanced control and functionality for all users, including ARCs, installation engineers, maintenance teams and end-user security managers.
