DIY giant offers helping hand to trades

DIY giant B&Q is set to offer a helping hand to workers who have been left high and dry due to the recent economic climate.

Over the past few months many tradesmen have lost their jobs due to well-known companies either going into administration or relocating.

But after the success of the retailer's TradePoint counter, which opened six months ago, B&Q have around 18 new staff to recruit at its two Fylde stores.

Owners Kingfisher rolled out its TradePoint desks across a selection of stores. And they have proven to be such a success they are looking for plumbers, electricians, locksmiths and administrators to help fill positions at the retailer.

Anyone wishing to apply for the jobs can go to www.diy.com/careers
