Burglar says he was doing locksmith work, cops say

Ogden, Utah police deputies say a 31-year-old man being charged with breaking into a vehicle told them he was just practicing to be a locksmith!

Weber County sheriff's deputies say they responded to a burglary call and found the man with lock picks, bolt cutters and what appeared to be a glass pipe for smoking methamphetamine. They requested a search warrant and seized stolen items from a truck, including several purses, wallets, religious books, a gun and gems worth an estimated $5,000.

Deputies say the man admitted to using methamphetamine. He's been charged with burglarizing a vehicle, possession of burglary tools, possession of a firearm by a restricted person, theft and drug possession.
