Evander Glazing & Locks scoops RoSPA gold award

* Evander.jpgThe firm had already scooped the RoSPA Silver Award last year and achieved the jump to a Gold Award in just a year by reducing the annual number of reportable accidents by 38%.

Meanwhile, on the road, Evander's continuing drive to improve safety standards across its fleet saw the company achieve a 51% accident and incident cost reduction in the first 18 months, going from a monthly average cost of £11,981 in 2012 to £5,870 in 2013.

Evander chief executive Officer Rick Francis said: 'RoSPA is a prestigious and world-renowned organisation recognised internationally. We're delighted to receive a Gold Award in only our second year of entry. We're proud to give our new and existing clients assurance of Evander's commitment to promoting health and safety in the workplace.'

To achieve a RoSPA Gold Award, companies must demonstrate strong audit systems and evidence of a rigorous workplace safety culture, high compliance levels with active monitoring of performance of principal risks and low and reducing rates of workplace error, harm and reductions in accident-related costs.

David Rawlins, RoSPA's awards manager, said: 'The RoSPA Awards encourage the raising of occupational health and safety standards across the board. Organisations that gain recognition for their health and safety management systems such as Evander Glazing & Locks, contribute to a collective raising of the bar for other organisations to aspire to, and we offer them our congratulations.'
