Mul-T-Lock serves up security for Bishop Sutton Tennis Club

Mul-T-Lock and Thornhill Security have upgraded the security at Bishop Sutton Tennis Club from a mechanical solution to access control, quickly and cost effectively with the use of its innovative Smartair all in one security solution.

In the heart of Chew Valley, Bishop Sutton Tennis Club required a cost effective access control solution, which could solve key management issues and still allow all members an individual fob to gain access.

Bishop Sutton Tennis Club was building a new modern clubhouse to replace the 60 year old wooden ex-school room. And whilst entry to courts and clubhouse had previously been by suited padlocks, with every member having a key, simple access to the new clubhouse was to be by individual fobs.

Thornhill Security recommended Smartair from Mul-T-Lock, an all in one access control system, which removes the need for expensive data cabling and re-wiring and simply operates from a unique management card, so user fobs can be easily added or removed as required.

Says Chris Rylance of Bishop Sutton Tennis Club: "We were looking for an economic system that was easy to install and to operate without involving a computer. Having no previous knowledge of such systems, we concentrated on talking to local high quality locksmiths, and settled on Thornhill Security. They recommended Smartair and it was clear to see its ease to operate flexibly to leave us options for future additional uses.

"Overall, the installation of Smartair was quick and trouble free and is proving to work well. We have distributed nearly 500 fobs to our members and feedback suggests the fob offers a greater convenience. Cont/d...

"We are already looking at ways to extend this to allow the key fobs to operate access to the courts at allocated times."

Smartair Update on Card offers a host of features to allow Bishop Sutton Tennis Court to define access for members, based on time zones and automatic operation. The door handle itself can also be set to passage mode where a user can set the lock into a free passage or unlocked mode and offers the committee audit trail capability.

Phill Hill at Thornhill Security added: "Smartair's real advantage over its competition is how easy it is to install. The Update on Card or Fob option offers extensive features normally associated with a sophisticated access control system, offering the Committee at Bishop Sutton Tennis Club a complete future proofed solution to manage who has access to the club at anytime."

Steve Ross, Managing Director at Mul-T-Lock, concluded: "The features of the Smartair range make it a simple and intelligent way of upgrading the controllability and security level of any premises from mechanical to access control, and in the process solving key management issues and enabling a more convenient solution, without compromising on security."

Smartair Update On Card is provided with a management kit is supplied containing the software and licence key, desktop encoder, portable programmer unit and a starter pack of cards or fobs.

Smartair Update On Card is one of four systems available in the range, designed to offer upgraded security from basic requirements such as a single door system right up to many doors linked back to a PC.
