New Decoder/Encoder modules extends the functionality of existing analogue CCTV cameras

* MEL-H264-decoder-encoder.jpgMEL Secure Systems, a leading developer of surveillance and security solutions, has launched a new set of H.264 IP decoder/encoder modules. Fitted inside existing camera housings or externally mounted, they extend the functionality of existing analogue CCTV cameras by enabling them to transmit images over IP networks in a wide range of surveillance applications.

The new H.264 IP decoder/encoder modules enable system integrators, installers and end users to extend the operational life of existing analogue CCTV cameras by integrating them into the new generation of IP networks. They provide low end-to-end latency enabling control room operators to easily follow specific events with a PTZ joystick and feature a wide array of inputs including composite video, audio, RS485 telemetry port and 2 x alarm inputs.

According to Peter Druzyc, Managing Director of MEL Secure Systems: "These new OEM modules provide users with a flexible and low cost way to upgrade to IP-enabled networks without having to replace existing analogue CCTV cameras.? They can be used on any network and are compatible with all CCTV camera brands."
