New Openow app creates secure virtual key for SMARTair

* SMARTair-Openow.jpgThe ASSA ABLOY Door Hardware & Access Control Group has unveiled Openow, a new mobile solution for users of its SMARTair wireless access control system.

Openow allows SMARTair users to open doors with their mobile phone and the Openow app, meaning access credentials can be granted, revoked and updated instantly, from wherever the user may be.

By eliminating physical credentials, Openow helps ensure facilities managers, security administrators and business owners are more in control of their access control. This also helps save time, as there is no need for users to collect or validate a physical access card.

Fast and easy to install, information transferred between the software, smartphone App and the SMARTair device is protected by end-to-end encryption.

Alan Kent, Access Control Manager and SMARTair Specialist, said: "Users will immediately find out how convenient Openow is to use. Individual access rights for our SMARTair system can be instantly admitted, withdrawn, or changed on the go, enhancing security while delivering the flexibility needed to amend a site's access control at any time. Access rights can also be granted for a limited time period only; a feature that many will find useful.

"In short, the benefit of Openow is simple: if you have your phone, then you are already carrying your SMARTair keys in your pocket."

The SMARTair Openow app is available to download now for free from Apple's App Store and the Google Play Store.
