Guardian24 and Macmillan cancer support win industry award for best deployment of lone worker technology

* Security-Award.jpgGuardian24 has won 'Best Deployment of Lone Worker Technology' at the Security & Fire Excellence Awards 2015 held at Hilton's flagship Park Lane Hotel, London. The award recognises the outstanding contribution to lone worker protection as deployed by one of Guardian24's key clients, Macmillan Cancer Support.

The award, presented by host Jimmy Carr in front of over 1,000 leading professionals in the world of security was received by Guardian24's Sales Director Paul Watson.

Now in their 17th year, the Security Excellence Awards are widely recognised as the 'Oscars' for both the security & fire industry sectors. The awards highlight the very best people, projects and processes the UK's security sector has to offer.

The 23-strong independent judging panel, made up from security industry experts, determined that Macmillan Cancer Support's deployment of Guardian24's lone worker protection solution surpassed all other entries.

At present, Guardian24's lone worker safety service is being utilised by Macmillan's Direct Volunteering Services teams - both staff and volunteers who support service users within their own homes.

Neil Morter, Safeguarding Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support stated "the most noticeable benefit has been seen in our retention and increase in numbers of our volunteers for the sole reason that they feel support and protected 7 days a week, beyond usual office hours.

"This in turn has opened up our volunteering opportunities, which raises awareness of the Macmillan brand and continues to strengthen our reputation as a trusted charity to be associated with."

Marketing Director, Will Murray spoke after the presentation, "We are delighted that our work with Macmillan Cancer Support has been honoured with this award. Receiving such praise from our industry peers is a proud moment for us at Guardian24.

"This award confirms our dedication and commitment to providing an outstanding and critical service for our clients and their lone working employees. It underlines why we're the recognised market leader within the lone working field and why we now provide support for over 40,000 individual employees throughout the UK and Ireland."

Macmillan are just one of hundreds of charities, public sector bodies and blue chip organisations who deploy Guardian24's personal safety alarms or mobile phone-based solutions to protect their lone workers.
