The 2014 Alex show "busier than ever"

* view-5.jpgThe 2014 Alex show is now over, we moved to a new venue where we could all fit into one space and without a two day hike to the hall. We had a steady stream of visitors and Sunday was actually busier than Saturday. The exhibitors all reported a busy show with real quality visitors all asking great questions. We had visitors from all over Europe and I heard several non-English conversations. It was also pleasing to see so many ALA members.

The demonstrations in our dedicated training areas were well received and well attended, My thanks to all the lecturers for their time and effort. Special thanks to KAP diagnostics for the sponsorship. Next show is 2016 so watch this space.

Zedlock 'Machinery Innovator of the Year' finalist in British Farming Awards

* Zedlock.jpgZedlock director, Bruce Robertson: "I invented the Zedlock because I was looking for a more secure alternative to a padlock and chain. In the yard at the farm I have an Ifor Williams trailer, amongst other equipment, and I was only too aware how easy it was to crop a chain with bolt cutters or smash the padlock with a hammer.

"However, in creating the Zedlock I also solved two other problems; locks freezing and losing the padlock. Because the Union lock mechanism in a Zedlock has brass levers, it is much less prone to freezing than a padlock, and being integral to the gate, there is no chance of losing the padlock."
