Exciting news this week for all independent locksmiths is the launch of the Organisation of Professional Accredited Locksmiths (OPAL).

The organisation has been set up to provide a matrix of support services and benefits for independent locksmiths who are unaligned with any formal body and who would otherwise be left to their own devices, both commercially as well as personally. Read the article below and if you think you would like to join, or if you have any further questions, just contact us.

Pre-registration for the sell-out event of the year - the Locksmiths' Exhibition - continues. With the show now only 2 weeks away, isn't it time you registered? More than 1,000 have, so speed up your entry by registering for the show now at:

http://www.locksmithsexhibition.co.uk/visitor-registration/

From time to time we publicise some daft security breaches. This week we have three: local council data lost in a pub (what was it doing there in the first place?); a Northern Ireland policewoman's mobile phone lost, turning up in Republican hands; and the undercover cop who chased himself! Keystone Kops anyone?
