Mul-T-Lock scores at WBA

* MT5WithCylinder.jpgMul-T-Lock's MT5 patented cylinder system has been installed by Livens Locksmiths in all buildings at West Bromwich Albion Football Club, as part of the newly-promoted Premier League club's ongoing refurbishment programme.

The West Midlands based football club is continually improving facilities for its supporters. The ongoing programme will eventually encompass all stands and the club was anxious to ensure high-security systems were installed to protect against lock manipulation.

Livens Locksmiths Ltd recommended Mul-T-Lock's MT5 cylinder range, which is based on their well-honed telescopic pin mechanism and incorporates Alpha Spring, a new patented technology located at the tip of the flat key, to increase key protection.

The new system's two complementary mechanisms operate independently yet, in combination, provide enhanced key security and strong tamper resistance. Livens Locksmiths has already installed over 100 MT5 cylinders at West Bromwich Albion, with over 300 to be fitted on completion, which is expected in 2012.

Says, Mark Miles, Head of Facility Operations & Development at The Hawthorns, West Bromwich Albion's Stadium: "We have, and continue to invest, a significant amount into the refurbishment programme and we needed to make sure the site was as secure as possible both now and in the future."

"Livens, demonstrated the advantages of MT5, and I was especially impressed with the flexibility of the master key system and its ability to incorporate all of our key access requirements. The MT5 system is now being installed in the remainder of the stadium, with minimum disruption to the football ground's operations."

MT5 is claimed to be the first cylinder in the UK to be supported by a unique key authorisation magnetic strip card. This card must be presented to a registered MT5 locksmith before any additional keys can be supplied to ensure tight control of key duplication.

Tim Gray, Director at Livens Locksmiths Ltd, said: "MT5 has undergone manual testing by independent locksmiths, who have attacked locks fitted with the cylinder using a variety of methods. These tests prove it can provide the ultimate in security, but it also offers a high quality system and with a huge number of useable combinations, making it ideal for commercial applications such as West Bromwich Albion Football Club."

Matt Rice, Marketing Manager at Mul-T-Lock, concluded: "Mul-T-Lock aims to deliver products for locksmiths that are flexible to suit the needs of any market and easy to install, yet comply with all current industry regulations. As Livens Locksmiths Ltd at West Bromwich Albion Football Club has demonstrated, our MT5 cylinder system is a great example."
