ACT launches ACTpro eLock and ACTenterprise, access control software suite

e-lock.jpgAccess Control Technology (ACT), the Irish-based access control manufacturer, has announced the launch of their latest product, the ACTpro eLock. The ACTpro eLock will go on sale through the established ACT network of distributors this month.

The system consists of a battery operated, wire-free, electronic lock with a built-in card reader. The ACTpro eLock uses networked wireless controllers (Hubs), capable of managing up to 32 doors each. The eLock uses the latest ACT software suite, ACTenterprise for installation and monitoring. In keeping with ACT's policy of continuous support to its customers the eLock is compatible with all existing ACTpro hardware.

David Tymlin, managing director of ACT, stated "We realised that we could address the shortcomings of competing products on the market, whilst ensuring the latest in reliable, cost-effective technology . The ACTpro eLock is the perfect addition to our pro range of access control, and will be a popular product from launch day"

ACTpro-e-lock_142.jpgThe ACTpro eLock boasts longer range, longer battery life and an easier setup than competing products on the market. By using 868kHz wireless frequency the eLock can deliver a long-range capability between the eLock hub and the eLock itself. With a battery life tested to over 200,000 operations, the lock will be maintenance free for years following installation.

With the ability to add a door ajar/door open sensor, the eLock will also inform the system of alerts automatically. If it loses connection to the hub or in the event of a power outage, the ACTpro eLock will function independently until the connection is re-established.

The ACTpro eLock will always allow free egress from the secure side, and can be configured to unlock in the event of a fire or other emergency. The eLock ensures the highest level of safety standards for your site.

The launch of the ACTpro eLock coincides with ACT's new professional level software suite, ACTenterprise, which can control up to 60,000 users and thousands of doors. ACTenterprise provides complete control over access systems, utilising a role-based division into three modules, one for installers (ACTinstall), one for managers of the system (ACTmanage), and one for those monitoring the system (ACTmonitor). This enhances the overall security and integrity of the system whilst allowing for customized displays suited to each task. "ACTenterprise really shows ACT's industry knowledge and close relationship to our installer base" said John Kavanagh, director of R&D. "We wanted a system that was powerful enough for any application, but was still simple to use and monitor."
