Keyways Stores recommend CLIQ Interactive cylinders for secure residential gardens in Central London

* CLIQ.jpgMul-T-Lock's patented CLIQ Interactive cylinders have been fitted to entrance gates at Cornwall Gardens in Central London, to provide the assurance of mechanical security and the benefits of access control in one key system.

Interactive CLIQ is an advanced electromechanical locking solution, which adds electronic intelligence to standard mechanical keys.

Using a master control key, access rights can be amended and lost or stolen keys can be easily removed from the system whilst authorised keys can be given limited access to areas, as well as time controlled zones.

In the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, the Resident Committee of Cornwall Gardens contacted local locksmiths Keyways Stores to recommend a security solution, to upgrade the mechanical systems in place, without access to an electricity supply and not affect the aesthetics of the gated access.

Says Eric Munro at Cornwall Gardens: "At Cornwall Gardens, we have always had a mechanical security solution, which was providing high security, but when residents went away or left, blocking and replacing keys was becoming an expensive problem.

"Keyways Stores recommended CLIQ Interactive to enable us to retain a master key system without the need for power and have total control of key holders. CLIQ also allows us to update keys automatically and control entrances quickly and easily. Finally, we were conscious not to affect the aesthetics of the gated access to the gardens, which date back to the 19th Century and CLIQ again proved to be the perfect solution."

CLIQ Interactive technology is based on highly miniaturised data encryption electronics, which is embedded directly inside the key and the cylinder. For extra security, each key contains a unique electronic ID that cannot be duplicated, altered or corrupted.

Andreas Philiotis of Keyways Stores Ltd added: "We recommended CLIQ Interactive from Mul-T-Lock as a durable security system, which would instantly upgrade the mechanical suite in place, even integrating some of the existing cylinders, to provide all the benefits of electronic locking solutions. From the committee's perspective, its intelligent flexibility and sleek design means it really is the best hardware solution to protect Cornwall Gardens."

A CLIQ key can operate both mechanical and electronic cylinders in master key suites as part of a highly cost efficient system and an overall hybrid electromechanical locking solution.

Matt Kemp, Regional Sales Manager for Mul-T-Lock concluded: "CLIQ Interactive offers the ultimate synergy between the reliability of mechanical keys and cylinders and the programming sophistication and flexibility of electronic locks. This means users like Cornwall Gardens Committee can satisfy current operational requirements, whilst incorporating the capacity for expansion to meet future demands, without compromising aesthetics."

The CLIQ key is battery powered and serves as the power source for the cylinder system too. Cylinders are suitable for external use, and conform to BS EN 1303, whilst padlocks carry an IP57 water rating.

CLIQ ensures a constant level of security and cost efficiency over the lifetime of the system. Euro profile, rim and Scandinavian variants are available that can be easily retrofitted to any door.
