News in Brief

G4S ends ISS deal. British security group G4S announced yesterday that it had ended a deal to buy Danish facilities group ISS for £5.2 billion on shareholder concerns at the size of the takeover amid economic uncertainty. The shock announcement comes one day before G4S shareholders had been due to vote on whether to approve the deal, which needed 75 percent support.

G4S had on October 17 announced its plans to create the world's largest security and facilities firm.

Data Management Inc celebrated its 50th anniversary during October. The company began in 1961 with the introduction of a simplified, high-quality bookkeeping system. The company grew by developing other product lines - business checks, medical forms, and gift certificates - and most recently entered the global marketplace with its innovative badges for affordable visitor management. www.DataManage.com
