So, what would you have done?

A locksmith in the USA has been arrested on a charge of stealing $500.000 in antique currency after being hired to open a safe after the owner lost the key.

Although the owner of the safe and the contents has since died, after the notes appeared at collector's auctions they were traced back to the locksmith who had put them up for sale.

When police searched his house they found further antique notes hidden in various places.

So, what would you have done in a similar situation? It's easy to be honest for a few pounds (or bucks) but when presented with a life-changing amount...

The theft will certainly change that particular locksmith's life: they don't let you off with a wag of the finger over there. And don't pretty much seem to care if prisons are overcrowded either!

Do the crime, do the time, as they say.
