Samsung launch compact and robust vandal-resistant dome camera with built-in IR LEDs

* Samsung-SCV-2081R_FS.jpgSamsung has introduced the SCV-2081R, a high performance, compact, vandal-resistant dome camera which has built-in IR LEDs enabling it to capture 600 TV lines resolution images at night, without the user incurring the cost of providing supplementary lighting.

Suitable for a wide range of internal and external applications such as offices, retail stores, schools and hospitals, the IP66 rated SCV-2081R will work effectively in more demanding environments that are prone to severe or varying weather conditions as well as tampering or physical attack.

The SCV-2081R's built-in IR LEDs equips it to capture clear images of objects even when the scene is in total darkness. The intensity of the IR LEDs is automatically adjusted according to the distance to the subject it is viewing in order to eliminate bright highlights and to ensure a perfectly balanced foreground and background image.

The SCV-2081R has a built-in 3.6X varifocal lens (2.8 ~10mm) and incorporates Samsung Techwin's highly acclaimed W-V DSP chipset to deliver a host of advanced features including eight motion detection zones, twelve privacy masking zones, third generation Samsung Super Noise Reduction (SSNRIII) technology and coaxial control compatibility allowing the fifteen language on-screen display menu to be accessed from the comfort of the control room via a compatible DVR, such as selected Samsung SRD series DVRs, without the need to install additional cabling.

Other key features include Highlight Compensation (HLC) technology, which identifies and neutralises excessively bright areas in an image, such as car headlights, enabling the operator to view detail that would normally be completely washed out due to the strong light source. The SCV-2081R also benefits from Samsung Super Dynamic Range (SSDR), a progression of backlight compensation which automatically enhances detail in dark areas across the entire scene to reveal objects hidden in shadow.

The SCV-2081R is available from all Samsung distributors and is offered with full support services from Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd., including free system design, free technical support and a full three-year warranty.
