Biometrics comes to coffee - yeah!

* coffeemaker.jpgAs real coffee addicts here, this is one biometric application we can truly relate to.

According to CNET the Saeco Xelsis Digital ID SLX 8870 MS (phew! need a coffee after that!) coffeemaker has a fingerprint reader to protect user settings.

While the security feature may not lockdown the whole system, it is a novel way to easily access your preferred coffee settings in the morning.

Storing up to six individuals' customizations, when users touch the sensor mounted on the top of the machine, the individual's profile is called up, complete with a displayed name.

With a built-in grinder, the 15-bar espresso machine makes beverages from start to finish. It has a removable water tank and a color graphic TFT display offers easy viewing of settings. Since coffee beans are stored in the machine, brewing a morning cup made exactly to your liking should be as easy as pressing a button - or at least as easy as scanning your fingerprint.

A must-have for every locksmiths shop!
