BSIA members excel at industry influence

* SGT-PEPPER-BSIA.jpgMembers of the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) have once again featured in the IFSECGlobal.com Top 50 most influential in Security and Fire list 2017, which was announced today ahead of this year's IFSEC International.

In a change to the traditional listing, 2017 nominees have been categorised into their respective areas of expertise, enabling individuals from all elements of the security and fire sectors, including business leaders, academics and pioneers of technological innovation to be recognised.

This year's categories were: Security manufacturers / service providers, security management and thought leadership (UK), security management and thought leadership (international), fire safety, installer / integrator excellence, cyber security (UK) and cyber security (international).

The BSIA's Chief Executive, James Kelly, ranks 8th within the security management and thought leadership (UK) category, and is joined in the listings by representatives from five BSIA member companies.

Commenting on this year's list, James Kelly said: "Each year I am delighted to see many representatives from BSIA member companies recognised for their influence and contribution to the UK's private security industry. Our members play an invaluable role in helping the Association to succeed in areas such as standards development, lobbying and representation, by sharing their considerable expertise, knowledge and experience.

"Attracting the industry's finest remains a key priority for the BSIA, but it's not just the big players who can benefit from membership. Smaller businesses can work towards expanding their own influence within the industry through involvement in the activities of the Association."

Other members of the BSIA that feature in IFSEC Global's Top 50 include: Simon Banks, Group Managing Director of CSL Dualcom, Alf Goransson, Chief Executive Officer of Securitas, Jason Towse, Managing Director of Mitie Total Security Management, Paul Tennent, Group Sales Director of Tavcom Training and Carlton Moore, Head of Technical Services at Atec Fire and Security.

The BSIA - in partnership with IFSEC Global - will be hosting a networking drinks reception with the 50 most influential people in security and fire in the Security and Management Theatre at IFSEC International between 14:30 and 15:30 on Thursday 22nd June. The reception is being sponsored by the BSIA as part of its ongoing 50th anniversary celebrations, and the Association invites colleagues from across the industry to come along and meet with the industry's most influential people.
