China mobile help may prove to be security risk
The Joint Intelligence Committee has added its voice amid growing concerns that China's offer to "help build" a £50 million mobile phone network on London’s underground, may in fact undermine London’s security apparatus.
With continual cyber attacks from China, who has been seeking military and technological knowledge from western countries like the UK, to provide its growing military and technological prowess with the latest intelligence and innovations.
Other concerns have alse been expressed at China's attempts to infiltrate power networks by using sophisticated devices that target banks and telecoms networks, that can be disrupted in the event of a conflict.
A privately owned Chinese telecoms firm Huawei, has offered to provide £50 million in equipment to London Underground as a "gift" from one Olympic host country to another.
