Sargent and Greenleaf introduces S&G 2890B alarm integration kit

* SG-Exterior-View.jpgSargent and Greenleaf, Inc. (S&G), a division of STANLEY Security, announces the launch of the S&G 2890B Alarm Integration Kit, giving the user the ability to monitor the complete status of the S&G 2890B Lock. This kit includes sensors that monitor the movement of the six different functions of the S&G 2890B Lock.

The S&G 2890B, when paired with the S&G 2740B lock, is the only lock that allows you to shelter in place during an active shooter situation and meets Federal Specification FF-L-2890B. Without leaving the secured space, occupants can quickly lock the combination dial from inside to prevent unwanted entry.

Designed for single-motion egress from inside secure rooms, the General Services Administration (GSA)-approved S&G 2890B (500 Series) meets both the precise needs of NFPA 101 life safety and high-security requirements for government applications. The lock is designed for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) applications for U.S. military, fusion centers, defense contractors and others. Protected by a robust, five-year warranty when used with the S&G 2740B, the lock features through-mounting with heavy-duty, adjustable standoffs for a strong, solid mount that cannot cause the door to collapse, and is fully configurable for left-hand and right-hand metal, wood or composite doors.

In addition to secure entry and life safety of the S&G 2890B Lock, the new S&G 2890B Alarm Integration Kit gives the user the ability to monitor any combination of the six lock positions. The S&G 2890B Alarm Integration Kit sensors are installed within the S&G 2890B Lock, integrating with the user's existing security monitoring systems, allowing the user to monitor the switch position of the six different parts of the lock. The parts of the lock that are monitored include, combination dial rotation, combination lock position, main bolt position, access control bolt position, request to exit and cover tamper.

"By adding the S&G 2890B Alarm Integration Kit, we are making monitoring easier for companies to keep their employees and visitors safe," said Brian Leary, Chief Operating Officer, Sargent and Greenleaf. "The introduction of this product proves S&G's reputation for powerful and protective solutions built for the most rigorous federal standards."

The user is able to monitor the movement of the lock functions and audit reports can be collected and accessed through the company's internal monitoring services group or security group.

The Alarm Integration Kit can be fitted into previously installed S&G 2890B Locks or can be fitted during the initial installation of the lock. The S&G 2890B Alarm Integration Kit is sold separately from the S&G 2890B 400 Series Lock, but can be purchased in a bundle with the 500 Series Lock. Customers should work with their third-party integrator to ensure compatibility.
