iLoq door lock is powered by phones Finnish digital lock mechanism specialist iLoq has unveiled what is claimed to be the world's first electronic door lock powered by a user's NFC mobile phone, removing the need for the lock to be equipped with a battery or external power source. The iLoq NFC smart lock "harvests electricity from the phone's NFC induction," the company says, enabling the user's smartphone to work "not only as a key but also as a power source for the lock." Allegion upgrades Briton outside access devices Specialist security manufacturer, Allegion, will launch its eagerly awaited, upgraded outside access devices (OADs) by Briton this month.
